I am a Doctor of Clinical Social Work, which means I attended the University of Pennsylvania for three years and on April 23, 2020, defended my dissertation, entitled “Examining the historical and present-age impact of racism in the United States of America through the arts, aesthetic education, and transformative learning theory: Empowering social work students to effectively discuss racism and provide best practices with African Americans and other people of Color.” My work includes a 15-week, 30 session academic course for baccalaureate-level social work students.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with “R” psychotherapy privilege, which means I earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from Syracuse University, and passed two New York State education exams (LMSW and LCSW) to become licensed, and obtained the “R” status after an additional 3 years of supervision and practice. I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and worked in the social work field since 2005.
I am EMDR certified, which means I am trained and authorized by the Eye Movement and Desensitization International Association (EMDRIA) to practice this specific trauma treatment.
I am a Christian, meaning I believe in the biblical Scriptures and in God, Jesus Christ, and God’s Holy Spirit. So, I do my best to live a life of integrity, goodness, and service, without judgement.
I am a professional jazz vocalist and performed throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. I executive produced my two CDs, Jazz Passions and World of Passion.
I am a professional actress, playwright, and director. As a member of Actor’s Equity Association (AEA) and Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) I have performed in a host of professional productions, including those that I wrote and directed.
This diversity of experience leads me to a multifaceted approach to practicing therapy because I truly believe we are a culmination of all our experiences. I integrate my skills, knowledge, and experiences to help you reach your full potential! I truly believe we have the ability to uniquely, creatively, and effectively utilize our innate and learned competencies as we encounter life’s circumstances. When we deepen our awareness and perception of self, develop a clear understanding of our life’s purpose, and decide how these realities are to impact and guide us, we maximize our potential for optimum success in our lives both personally and professionally.
What is your purpose? What do you need? How can I help you? I will listen to you and help you process your thoughts and feelings! If you are willing to engage in the transformational process, I am committed to guide you in exploring and discovering your whole self and help you plan for success as you move forward on your life’s journey with confidence! I await the opportunity to work with you!
