I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, which means I have a Master’s degree in Social Work from Syracuse University, worked in the field for over nine years, and passed two New York State education exams (LMSW and LCSW) to become licensed. I am also EMDR certified, which means I am trained and authorized by the EMDR international organization to practice this specific trauma treatment.
I am a Christian, meaning I believe in the biblical scriptures, in God, Jesus Christ, and God’s Holy Spirit. So, I do my best to live a life of integrity, goodness, and service.
I also have a background in the performing arts. As a professional jazz vocalist, I performed throughout North America, Europe and Asia. I am also a professional actress and playwright with directing experience. As a member of Actor’s Equity Association I’ve performed in a host of professional productions, including those that I wrote and directed.
This diversity of experience leads me to a multifaceted approach to practicing therapy because I truly believe we are a culmination of all of our experiences. I integrate all of my skills and experiences to help you reach your full potential!
I decided to focus on servicing people with mental health issues and concerns because I truly believe we all have the ability to uniquely, creatively, and effectively utilize our innate and learned skills in serving others. Self-concept is vital in affecting our thinking, our behavior, and our output. When we deepen our awareness and perception of “self”, develop a clear understanding of our life’s purpose, and decide how these realities are to impact and guide us, we maximize our potential for optimum success in our lives both personally and professionally.
I believe that developing and implementing healthy mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical wellness is vital in being able to successfully advance in life and it is my intention to help people accordingly, so they can achieve whatever positive and productive aspirations they have. I find it meaningful to help people move past the negative labels, conditioning, and beliefs imbedded in their psyches, sometimes since childhood, and to help them move into all that God has created them to be.
What is your purpose? What do you need? How can I help you? I will listen to your thoughts and feelings! If you are willing to work for change, I will help you to discover your true essence, create skills for success, and move ahead on your life’s journey with confidence! I look forward to working with you!
